Casa Esperanza
Casa Esperanza, Inc. began with the vision of the UNM Cancer Center Board of Advisors and the Realtor Association of New Mexico. Founded April 9, 1987 as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization, Casa Esperanza began raising funds to build an independent nonprofit home to house families who are referred to Albuquerque for cancer treatment, regardless of their financial situation. Casa Esperanza works with area hospitals to extend the best "human" care available. We provide appropriate housing and emotional support for patients and their families who reside temporarily in Albuquerque while the patient receives treatment. Casa Esperanza's families come to us from all backgrounds and income levels, but they share one thing in common - each family is facing fear and emotional upheaval.
